Specialists in Mental Health
Addiction doesn’t just affect the body – its effects on the mind are often just as dangerous. In fact, emotional and mental health disorders are very commonly associated with addiction – this is known as a dual diagnosis. While treating the physical aspects of a dual diagnosis, for example through medically assisted detox, we make a special effort to treat the mental dimensions as well.
Merito proudly includes mental health specialists with our medical, therapeutic, and pastoral staff. The detox period and the days following can be fraught with depression, cravings, feelings of low self-worth, and even suicidal thoughts.
Specialists in nutrition and fitness
Addiction takes a heavy toll on the body. In addition to the effects of the drug being used, exercise and a healthy diet are often neglected even ignored. Access to a gym, yoga and meditation, and hiking to help combat this. We also have an onsite nutritionist and a chef who will consult with each client individually, building a diet plan with your unique nutritional needs in mind.
We are first and foremost concerned with the health and wellbeing of the clients in our care.
Specialists in spirituality and faith
Faith in God and expanded spirituality have proven time and again to be a boon to people in recovery, especially when they’re searching for greater meaning and a sense of wellness than they experienced while using. Strength emanates from within, but feeling watched over and cared for by a higher power is just as important.
Many of our team, including our founder, are guided by their love of God and their faith. We give clients the opportunity to engage with other people of faith, who facilitate group sessions and Bible classes.
